Call your legislator about the need for a responsible budget

Lawmakers are headed to Springfield this week; let’s welcome them back with a flood of phone calls to capitol offices that stress WE CAN’T WAIT for a responsible budget. This statewide call-in day, sponsored by the Responsible Budget Coalition, will stress to legislators that Illinois needs a budget that provides adequate revenue to fund education, health care, human services, public safety, and more.

Early childhood programs are faced with staff lay-offs, decreased training, and even closing doors because of delays in state payments. Ask legislators to support comprehensive tax reform legislation like House Bill 174, the comprehensive tax reform bill that raises new revenue needed to close the state’s huge budget shortfall and make taxes fairer.

Look up your legislator and call them Wednesday!
Stress that WE CAN’T WAIT for a responsible budget!
